Hannah Hughes
Hi, I’m Hannah. Nice to meet you.
My name is Hannah Hughes. I am bold and driven. I am creative and curious. I am a creator, a communicator and a storyteller. Our fast-paced and ever-changing world motivates me to adapt and excel. I love trying new and exciting things, whether that includes going zip lining, trying new food, experimenting with fashion, or even moving to a new country alone.
I am currently living in Madrid, Spain working as an English Language Assistant in primary school. This experience has allowed me to pursue my passion for travel while teaching me more about myself and the world than I could have imagined. Learning the native tongue, immersing myself in the local culture and traveling have all been enriching experiences. Yet not nearly as enriching and rewarding as my experience teaching English in school.
I grew up in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania, close to Scranton, home of The Office. I graduated from Abington Heights High School as an honors student and three-sport athlete. While I have always enjoyed the serenity of nature in Northeastern Pennsylvania, I am a city girl at heart, so I took my academic career to Temple University in Philadelphia. I spent the past four years studying public relations and content creation at Klein College of Media and Communication. This past May I graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Besides immersing myself in my studies, I was also a fashion writer for the Fashion and Business Club and an Account Executive for PRowl Public Relations, Temple University’s first and only student-run public relations firm. In my role as a fashion writer, I wrote biweekly blog posts pertaining to the latest and greatest in the fashion industry, exciting updates in the business world, and anything in between. As an Account Executive for PRowl, I managed my team of account associates, pitched branding strategies to my client, and implemented comprehensive PR strategies and solutions. Both of these positions allowed me to follow my passion of storytelling.
During my university years, I studied abroad in Rome, Italy where I had the opportunity to study art and work at an artisanal designer boutique. I was immersed in Italian culture from Michelangelo to fashion merchandising to amatriciana (a traditional Roman pasta dish) and everything in between.
As the end-date of my Language Assistant role nears, I am excited for what the future holds. I aspire to move to New York City to work in the fashion industry, yet I would be just as happy to do the same in any city. Not much is certain except uncertainty, but I strongly believe that every experience is an opportunity to grow personally and professionally.
